Anyone can put a …
Anyone can put a blower on an engine… The trick comes when you can get that performance WITHOUT it…

If you’re interested in knowing what would happen if the M5 had such ‘assistance’…google: BMW M5 Hurricane. While this is not a production car (and never will be) it gives some indication of the slaughter that would befall a CTSv (actually – the Hurricane would probably blow past the ZR1 too).

Point being…any company can make any car go any speed if they really want to…

the cts-v broke world record speed 1001 hp

car companies un US …
car companies un US limit speed? wow…it goes next to Bill’s : i did not have sexual relationship with that woman…actually german cars have speed limiter at 250 kph. period.

Clearly…if the …
Clearly…if the BMW costs more…it MUST be better.

who cares if the …
who cares if the bmw looks prettier inside than a cadillac. How many people live in their cars? It is easier getting maintenance on the cadillac than the foreign German bmw. Good luck finding a mechanic and by the way their maintenance charges and parts are in the thousands of dollars. Why pick the M5 when you can get a power cadillac for 35k less and not as much to maintain.

GTR-v= …

Technology?
GTR-v=144hp per liter – Turbo
M5=100hp per liter – Naturally aspirated
CTSv=88Hp per liter – Super charged

Självklart att …
Självklart att Cadillac CTS-V är snabbare än BMW M5
Cadillac is one of the best American cars.

I don’t feel …
I don’t feel superior – no offense intended.
My favorite US cars are:
ZR1
67′ Vette
5.0l Mustang (early 90’s)
65-67 Mustang

Global:
E92 M3
335xi
911 GT3
911 C4S
Ferrari Scaglietti
curious about the X5 ///M

M5 – I actually think is ugly from the rear, but I like it from the front and I like it’s boringness – just like my old 5.0L Mustang LX (which looked like the regular mustang except for the subtle tail pipes)

I’m done arguing, …
I’m done arguing, if you feel it is superior then so be it. Just curious what your 10 favorite cars are?
Mine
BMW M3 e92
Bmw M5 e39
Ferrari F458 Itilaia
Bmw e46 m3
Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black
Mercedes C63 AMG
BMW 335i
Subaru WRX STI
Nissan GT-R R35 (r34 is sexier)
And CTS-V/ZR-1
I will agree America has put out some crappy cars, that’s why we needed the bailout. But the only 2 American cars I would even consider are the ZR-1 and the CTS-V. it’s sad but true.

12 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

Global cars outsell …
Global cars outsell American cars because for a while, they were designed pretty shitty. But not in this case. Saying that nobody outside the US doesn’t invalidate my point, that the cts-v is superior to the M5, for $30k less.

13 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

I asked for M5 …
I asked for M5 awards, not engine awards. You give me ONE. I look at my wallet, $30K cheaper and faster. You give me excuses.

14 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

Why bring up the …
Why bring up the Panamera and RS4 when we are talking about the M5 vs CTS-V.? I am not making something out of nothing, just don’t make stuff up or I will call you out. The CTS-V is superior to the M5, that is a fact you can see it in the video. Yes, of course the M5 will win out in the end because of the speed limit, car companies here in the US limit our speed because there is no where to really go all out, we have no Autobahn or Nurburgring.

15 ronmeister1 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

“Engine is nothing …
“Engine is nothing without the rest of the car”

You said that…really! I didn’t make this up…what the is that suppose to mean? Take the engine out of any car…what awards are given out for cars with out an engine you MORON.

16 ronmeister1 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

Yeah, Engine of the …
Yeah, Engine of the year is weak…TOOL

What did the M5 lose? Oh yeah right…nothing.

GM claims it hold an Nring record…but Audi’s RS 4 did 7:58 in 2005; Pamamera 7:56.

CTSv is 3/10ths faster in 1/4mile, but is crawling when the M5 races past at 145mph marker…

Please…stop trying to make something of NOTHING…not like ANYONE outside the US will ever buy it…in fact few outside the US buy ANY US-made cars. Global cars, however, seem to outsell US cars in US…wonder why?

Wow. 1 award. And …
Wow. 1 award. And its from Russia, which isn’t the hotbed of automotive technology. 1 award. Wow.

18 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

I knew it! Engine …
I knew it! Engine of the Year, that’s all you can do. The engine is nothing without the rest of the car. I guess I am done, because you can’t give me what I want. Show me the awards the CAR has won, not the S85. You are just wasting my time i’m done. Your uber sedan lost to a Cadillac end of story. You can’[t come up with anything but engine of the year, thats pretty weak.

Do you need it in …
Do you need it in another language cowboy?

Moscow, December 17, 2004. BMW Group for the third time won the prestigious Russian automotive prize «Golden Klaxon». The specially designed statuette in the form of an old car klaxon made of cast silver and covered with a double-layer of high-quality gold was presented to the company representatives in Moscow on December 17.

In 2004 the prestigious prize was awarded to the BMW M5 which gained top points in the «Technical Breakthrough»

20 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

Also Engine of the …
Also Engine of the Year doesn’t count. I want awards for the whole car.

21 ronmeister1 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

BMW has a long and …
BMW has a long and colorful history for producing technologically advanced vehicles of the highest quality and the BMW M5 is no exception. Indeed, the BMW M5 logo on the BMW M5 hood is synonymous with technology, quality and luxury and the BMW M5 has won numerous awards, including the coveted ‘Best Car Of The Year’ and ‘Best In Class’ awards. The reasons for the success if the BMW M5 are very noticeable and can be seen in all BMW M5

just admit it, America won so stop complaining and making excuses, we stepped up and won

23 b0nes2 11.15.09 at 9:51 pm

You are still …
You are still stalling and BSing. How long will you take? 3rd time. How many awards has the M5 won? You are taking too long stop stalling and answer the question. I don’t think you will, you will just keep on calling me stupid.
