BMW engines are actually light compared to it’s competitors. I bet you didn’t know that the V8 engines in the e90 series are lighter than the I6 in the E46, and the e46 engine isn’t even considered heavy. The same goes for BMW’s V10

Wao, that is an ignorant comment considering its suspension is not tuned, if it where tuned it would mean that it shares the same suspension with a standard 6 series, but it doesn’t the suspension in the M6 is engineered FOR the M6. The engine is not big, it is a 5l V10, the AMG engines are “big”. Finally, you shouldn’t be making up terms like “heavy luxo cruiser coupe”, I believe the proper term is high performance grand tourer. It might not be a supercar but it sure embarrasses some.

M6 is not a super car. It’s a heavy luxo cruiser coupe with a tuned suspension and a big engine.

Please dont call me sir man, im 21 years old. As to your 350z, if you enjoy it then it is definetely not shit, as long as you enjoy a vehicle then it is a good one. I think that what makes a hyper car is performance + production figures. To be honest I dont consider m cars as super cars as BMW didnt design them with that purpose. The M philosphy is to turn a BMW into a car that can still be used everyday just like any other one of their vehicles while still being able to keep up with supercars.

I have alot of respect for you sir and your M vehicle. But the M’s just don’t get enough attention to be considered supercars. Point blank it’s figures I guess are not amazing to the consumers or magazines. But I believe the M5/6 are excellent magnificent cars. I’ve never owned one or driven one but I have had some extensive seat time in an 09 Conv. 650ci with the SMG and loved every second of it. Kudos to BMW. Also I own a 350Z which to me isn’t really but it’s somewhere.

Absoloutely true. The M5 and M6 should not be placed in the same category as the R8. The R8 in terms of power productivity and performance is not supercar numbers by any mean. But how do you determine if a car is a super car today? Alot of people say the R8 like you say because of its styling. I say go by the performance and production numbers of a car. You know what makes any Ferrari a supercar? Not the cost or the performance. But how many they produce. In my own opinion though. You may differ

Yes but I’m saying that alot of people consider cars that the M6 destroys super cars yet dont consider the m6 a super car, and i believe it is mainly on looks. The r8 for example is considered a “supercar” by many but its competition is the new m3 because both m5 and m6 will shoot straight past it.
